The Role

The University of Roehampton Professional Services Limited is recruiting to the role of Data Analyst to join our Planning & Strategic Projects Team. The appointee will work closely with the Data Quality & Returns Manager on strategically important areas of University business, using their strong analytical skills to compile and quality assure data for the University’s statutory returns to Government organisations and to ensue data quality across the University. The Data Analyst will also work within the wider Planning team, a team central to the University’s decision-making processes, on the production of business intelligence, management reports and to create key performance indicator reports.

Key responsibilities will include;

  1. To work with the Data Quality & Returns Manager on the preparation and co-ordination of timely and accurate statutory student data returns to the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), the Office for Students (OfS), NHS England (NHSE), and the Department for Education (DfE).
  2. To support the Data Quality & Returns Manager with the audit of statutory returns to ensure consistency and accuracy of data.
  3. To use a range of IT software, such as Excel, in conjunction with our student record system in order to manage student data.
  4. To undertake analysis and reporting of complex data throughout the University and, where appropriate, presenting to this to relevant stakeholders.

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  1. Statistical Analysis: Proven ability to apply statistical techniques and interpret complex data sets to extract meaningful insights.
  2. IT Proficiency: Excellent IT skills, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  3. Interpersonal Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels, both within the University and with external stakeholders.
  4. Data Management: Competence in handling and managing large volumes of data accurately and efficiently.
