About the Role

Join Hartpury as our Director of Estates, Sustainability and Environment and lead the strategic development of our 360-hectare campus. This pivotal role oversees operational efficiency, sustainability initiatives, and health and safety compliance of our estate.  As a key member of the Executive team, supporting the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Management Team in driving strategic growth, ensuring effective operation of the University and College.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership for the development, maintenance, and optimisation of the campus estate.
  • Drive sustainability and environmental initiatives to align with Hartpury’s 2030 strategy and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all campus operations.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to support strategic planning and resource management.
  • Advise the Executive and Senior Management Teams reporting to the Board of Governors/wider leadership team on estate-related matters.

About You

  • Significant experience in strategic planning and operational management of large estates.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing sustainability initiatives and achieving environmental targets.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
  • Leadership and communication skills, ability to influence at all levels.
  • Relevant professional qualifications/memberships in estates or facilities management.
