Professor of Practice

The University of Hong Kong – Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences

Applications are invited for appointment as Professor of Practice at Hong Kong Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences (Ref.: 532302), to commence on December 1, 2025 or as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Hong Kong Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences, established in 2001 at The University of Hong Kong, has a mission to promote innovative, multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research and teaching in the humanities and social sciences, with a focus on China. The Institute seeks to provide a vibrant hub for studying the multi-facets of the Chinese civilization and its long developmental history using both new and traditional approaches. Reporting to the Director of the Institute, the appointee is expected to have a strong commitment and ability of quality teaching, with definite promise in curriculum development, in the area of Family Wealth Management, and to contribute to knowledge exchange and participate in academic / practice/policy research. Prior experiences in business education in esteemed institutions will be an advantage.

Applicants should possess a Master’s or doctoral degree in Business, Economics, Finance or related disciplines, ideally with at least 15 years of relevant professional work experience. Applicants should be a widely recognized and highly respected leader in a professional circle, with an outstanding contribution to professional service at the national/regional and international level.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will come with an attractive contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of base salary.
