Fourth Monkey is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a full-time Academic Services Officer. This pivotal role supports the academic journey of students, focusing on attendance, attainment, assessment, and academic administration. The Academic Services Officer is both a key student-facing representative and a vital operational contributor to the effective running of our training programmes.

The successful candidate will be a highly organised and detail-driven individual, experienced in academic administration within a Higher Education setting. You will be responsible for supporting the Head of Academic Services in the development of academic procedures, student learning plans, monitoring student achievement, and liaising with our academic partners. Working closely with Heads of Courses, practitioners, and the Director of Training, you will help ensure that the student experience is cohesive, rigorous, and transformative.

The role also includes practitioner liaison, assisting in contracting, quality assurance, and reporting. You will play a key part in the delivery and ongoing development of high-quality courses, productions, and performances in collaboration with our practitioner community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the creation and implementation of learning plans with clear training goals.
  • Liaise with practitioners and monitor student progress, feeding back to course leaders and academic partners.
  • Administer course approval and validation processes.
  • Maintain robust records and support admissions procedures.
  • Ensure contractual and quality standards are upheld across practitioner engagement.
  • Contribute to the smooth delivery of recruitment events and open days.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in an academic services or Higher Education administrative role.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Teams and data systems, including VLE and CRM platforms.
  • Experience in academic reporting, contracting, and budget management.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Analytical thinking, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to multitask.
  • High standards of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Passion for student support and educational success.

Desirable:

  • Interest in performing arts or creative industries.
  • Experience of pastoral and welfare support.
  • Knowledge of Higher Education regulatory frameworks and reporting.

This is a full-time role (40 hours/week), Monday to Friday, with occasional evening or weekend work, for which TOIL will be granted. Annual leave is 32 days (including bank holidays). All new staff undertake a 3-month probation period.

Fourth Monkey offers a competitive salary, a workplace pension scheme, subsidised health and wellbeing support, and a cycle-to-work scheme. We value and promote equality, diversity, and inclusivity across our work and are committed to providing a dynamic and supportive environment for both students and staff.

If you are a passionate, conscientious professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and believes in the power of the arts to transform lives, we would love to hear from you.
