We are looking to recruit a committed and ambitious NMC registered Nurse to the role of Practitioner / Senior University Practitioner. Could this be you? You will join a motivated team to deliver teaching, learning, and research across adult, child, learning disability, and mental health nursing within the Department of Nursing. You will contribute to the effective delivery of the BSc and MSc pre-registration adult nursing programmes, as well as post-registration courses.

This role will require up to date specialist knowledge of tissue viability and leg ulcer management, and an independent and supplementary prescribing qualification is desirable but not essential.

You will be predominantly based in the new Daphne Steele Building on the Southgate campus. The Daphne Steele Building is developed to the WELL Building Standard, a holistic approach that places an emphasis on people’s health, wellbeing, and accessibility, making it an exceptional environment to work in.

Your role will include the design, development, and delivery of innovative, engaging, and effective teaching and learning methods, with a focus on utilising research in programme delivery. Committed to professional development, you will engage in research and scholarly activity to enhance your teaching and expand the body of knowledge within your topic area.

Our students are diverse, and we welcome applicants who demonstrate a commitment to enhancing the student experience through facilitating student-centred learning and support. You should have knowledge of a broad range of contemporary adult nursing practice across various healthcare settings. Your role may also provide support to practice supervisors and practice assessors within clinical practice areas.

Current registration with the NMC and a master’s degree in a relevant subject are essential qualifications for the role. You should have demonstrable teaching experience in adult nursing and be able to show how you can support students through a range of methods and strategies to ensure a high-quality learning experience.

This post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. Regular status checks may also be required, depending on your role.

As a Practitioner, we expect you to be actively engaged in practice in addition to your role at the University. This can be either through paid employment with another employer, paid consultancy or freelance work.

The University is deeply committed to equality and diversity for all its students and staff. We seek to be diverse and inclusive, supporting individuals and groups to fulfil their potential and nurture a sense of belonging.
