The role of the Payment Services Team is to support The University’s world-leading teaching and research activities, and other professional services departments, facilitated through the smooth running of our purchase to pay and expense processes. The office processes many types of documents and transactions and generates frequent payments to suppliers, staff, students, and visitors.
The University raised 100,000 purchase orders, paid 111,000 supplier invoices, and processed 26,000 reimbursement claims in the last financial year.
This post is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, customer focussed person to join our busy payments team. The successful candidate must have significant working knowledge and experience of processes within a finance environment such as expenses, purchasing and payments, ideally combined with a working knowledge of facilitating payments runs both domestic and international. Experience of working with a finance system, i.e., Business World, particularly in reporting, data extraction and analysis for business planning purposes is desirable.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate working effectively with high volumes of transactions under tight timescales and have a proven track record of delivering significant business process improvements. Previous supervisory experience is essential. Good IT skills including the Microsoft Office package are required, and experience using Business World, or a similar finance software package is preferred.
