Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in Pharmacology

Faculty of Medical Sciences

Qualifications and Experience 

The successful candidate must possess at minimum, a medical degree with a DM or MD in Pharmacology (Clinical) and/or PhD in Pharmacology, from a recognized university or closely related field. 

Candidates should also possess:

• Ideally at least five (5) years post-graduate experience in teaching
• Substantial record of Clinical or Experimental Pharmacology research with several publications in reputable, peer-reviewed journals, with high impact factor and citations
• Substantial experience in preparing examinations in Pharmacology for undergraduate medical program
• Experience of leading academic Departmental committees with demonstrated organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills
• Experience in course and project coordination
• Experience in working collaboratively within an academic Pharmacology Unit/Department to deliver a medical curriculum  
• Proficiency in curriculum development  

Candidates with the following would have an advantage:

• Board eligible or Board Certified
• Post-doctoral training in Clinical or Experimental Pharmacology
• Experience in curriculum development for undergraduate teaching
• Substantial experience in postgraduate research supervision
• Substantial experience in conducting laboratory experiments
• Possess ability to undertake impactful research and publications 

The following would be considered assets:

• Certificate in university teaching and learning
• Familiarity with Problem-Based Learning (PBL)
• Proficiency in writing research grants and attracting funding
• Must have gained substantial research grants
