Job description:
We have an exciting opportunity in the University of Sheffield’s sector-leading National Epitaxy Facility to lead high quality research and development in device design, fabrication and test in collaboration with leading researchers and industry. Working within a state-of-the-art semiconductor facility, this is an ideal opportunity to develop broad and transferable skills in device fabrication and development and would suit individuals committed to a career in academia or industry.
You will work closely with national and international collaborators from other Universities and industrial partners. In close collaboration with Epitaxy experts in the group, your work will create innovative III-nitride laser and electronics devices including their integration with other III-V materials. You will prepare and present results regularly, and will help to coordinate progress meetings. You will publish articles in high profile journals, attend project progress meetings and international/domestic conferences. Development of routes to commercial exploitation will be a feature of the work including the development of intellectual property rights.
