Purpose of the Role:

The Deputy Registrar supports the Registrar in leading key academic services including assessments, examinations, student records, data management, graduation, and award distribution. This role ensures efficient operations, regulatory compliance, and service excellence through effective process management and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Registrar in managing daily operations and departmental leadership.
  • Supervise staff, delegate tasks, and monitor team performance and service quality.
  • Oversee exam scheduling, material distribution, and moderation processes across campuses.
  • Maintain accurate academic records and secure data sharing in compliance with privacy protocols.
  • Coordinate the award issuance and graduation process from start to finish.
  • Respond to student and staff queries on academic records, assessments, and related processes.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure data accuracy, accessibility, and integrity.
  • Manage data entry and sharing for timetables, grades, and reports.
  • Plan and execute graduation ceremonies and related events.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvement of systems and procedures. 

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree (Desirable) BSc (Required) in a relevant field (e.g. education, data management).
  • Leadership qualification at Level 5 (e.g., ILM or CMI).
  • Significant Higher Education experiences
  • Strong background in exams, records management, graduation planning, and team supervision.
  • Proficiency in Office 365, eVision, Power BI, and CRM systems.
  • Solid understanding of higher education policy, including OfS regulations. 

Benefits:

  • Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 (depending on experience)
  • Incentive: Up to £5,000 annually, pro-rata, based on quarterly KPIs (post-probation)
  • Annual Increment: 3% salary increase on work anniversary, subject to KPI achievement
  • Holiday: 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays
