The role
Facilitating the teaching and learning experience of undergraduate veterinary students, in a clinical environment, and to deliver teaching to external industry contacts. In particular, to contribute, with supervision where appropriate, to the delivery of the School’s teaching programme in Veterinary Public Health which is a core rotation for students including working in our on-campus commercial abattoir.
What will you be doing?
You will play an important role in enhancing the student experience. As a practitioner with clinical experience and a passion for teaching, you are not expected to have referral-level experience or expertise, however, you will work to support the students in their learning from a rich, diverse and challenging caseload. You will provide feedback and contribute to assessment as well as supporting the rotation teachers leading the formal university teaching rotations. As part of the clinical educational team, you will be supported to contribute to the development of teaching, assessment and research outputs in the area of veterinary education.
You may also act as a facilitator for the new Accelerated Graduate Entry Veterinary Programme, using a case-based approach to learning. You will also contribute to the development of online and case-based teaching materials and support practical teaching in our undergraduate programmes. You may also support teaching using digital teaching tools and production of online resources for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

You are passionate about educating the next generation of vets, have some experience of teaching undergraduate students in a clinical environment, are a member of the RCVS and are highly organised, with effective communication skills. You will also need some practical experience relevant to veterinary public health and have an OV qualification (EU 2019/625 or EC854/2004).
