We are now seeking a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Health Economics of Vaccines to contribute to and lead high-impact research, teaching, and engagement on the economics of vaccine delivery in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). This is a unique opportunity to shape the next generation of evidence and policy on vaccine access and delivery.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading health economics research within collaborative vaccine projects, including protocol development, ethical approval, tool design, and data collection across sites in Burkina Faso, Mali, and Chad.
  • Conducting advanced economic evaluations, including health systems costing, equity and budget impact analyses, and cost-effectiveness modelling of vaccine delivery strategies.
  • Disseminating findings through high-quality publications, policy briefs, conference presentations, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Supporting evidence synthesis and systematic reviews, including supervision of PhD candidates.
  • Developing and delivering teaching in health economics and financing within LSTM’s postgraduate programmes.
  • Building sustainable partnerships with Ministries of Health, Finance, global funders (e.g. GAVI, Global Fund), and normative bodies (e.g. WHO).
  • Supporting the career development of early-career researchers within and beyond LSTM.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A PhD in health economics or a closely related subject area, with applied experience in the field.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and research experience in vaccine economics, including in LMIC settings.
  • Experience in health systems costing, economic modelling, and impact analysis.
  • Full working proficiency in French, and a track record of conducting research in African or low-resource contexts.
  • Excellent communication skills and evidence of academic publication.
  • A strong commitment to equity, partnership, and capacity strengthening in global health.

For Senior Lecturer level, you will additionally bring:

  • An established reputation in global health economics, with an excellent record of peer-reviewed publications and external grant funding.
  • Significant experience in strategic leadership and mentoring, including PhD supervision as a primary supervisor.
  • A clear vision to develop an impactful, sustainable portfolio of research on vaccine economics.
