This is initially a full-time fixed term appointment for three years, with further extension subject to funding.
LSE Sociology has an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and professional Research Coordinator to support all research administrative activities within the Department and provide comprehensive support for the Sociology MPhil/PhD programme.
The post-holder will work with the Department Research Manager to develop and enhance an excellent research culture, help to promote funding opportunities to staff and PhD students, and work with the relevant officers and offices within LSE to help secure and manage grants. The post-holder will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Sociology MPhil/PhD programme, ensuring that a consistent level of service is given to all MPhil/PhD students focusing in particular on the management of programme delivery. The post-holder will an integral part of a dynamic PS team dedicated to ensuring the smooth operation of the Department. The post-holder will serve as an initial contact for all aspects of the various research related activities, managing a variety of office tasks, both large and small.
The successful candidate will have experience of administration within a Higher Education institution, with excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to use initiative to solve problems. The post-holder will have experience with office procedures particularly managing programmes, event planning and providing administrative support in an academic or research environment. The post-holder will have excellent communication skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
