Job description:
Are you a PhD graduate in Developmental Neuroscience who enjoys working collaboratively? We have an exciting opportunity in the School of Biosciences to join us in a biomedical research project to study development of the zebrafish inner ear. You will join the Development, Regeneration and Neurophysiology (DRN) Research Cluster in our large and diverse academic School at the University of Sheffield. Your contribution will further strengthen our strong international research profile and our reputation for novel, research-led teaching.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and individual who can bring their expertise in working with the zebrafish as a model system to this project. You will use your skills in experimental work (molecular, cellular, pharmacological and genetic approaches) and data analysis. Excellent record-keeping and communication skills are essential, and you should feel comfortable working both individually and as part of a team. There will be excellent opportunities for career development, including the development of writing, presentation and supervision skills.
Applicants must have a PhD in Developmental Neuroscience along with experience in working with the zebrafish model and the developing inner ear. As you will be responsible for training others, experience in supervising project students at the bench is essential.
