About us
Based on the Strand campus in central London, the Research Operations team supports the four Humanities departments within the Faculty of Arts & Humanities. The Faculty of Arts & Humanities is committed to ensuring all of our researchers have the opportunity to develop and succeed. This role presents an exciting opportunity for you to be part of the research operations team working on REF, research engagement and with PGRs.
About the role
Humanities is a grouping of Classics, History, Philosophy and Theology & Religious Studies within the Faculty of Arts & Humanities. The purpose of the role is to take a lead role in planning, organisation and delivery of administration for research activity in in line with the Research Strategy for the Faculty of A&H; to provide ongoing support for the development of the Faculty’s Research Excellence Framework (REF) submission; to line manage professional services staff within the Cluster’s research function; to oversee the administration of Postgraduate Research (PGR) student processes within the Cluster.
You will work closely with the Head of Research Operations, other Faculty research support staff and with the Research, Management & Innovation Directorate (RMID) and other College Research Management teams to ensure that effective communication takes place to deliver a seamless research administration service to staff and students.
This is a full-time post, fixed-term post until 11 August 2026.
For internal candidates this may be approached as a secondment opportunity. It is expected that business need will require the postholder to work on campus for at least two days per week.
