The full-time starting salary is normally £44,131 per annum (with progression up to £51,182 per annum).

The Directorate of Student and Academic Services (SAAS) leads on the development and provision of outstanding student facing services. The Directorate is responsible for ensuring that students have an excellent experience and provides services across the student and academic lifecycle from enrolment to graduation, covering everything from wellbeing services to ensuring new courses are set up correctly. The Directorate is at the centre of a transformation programme as we seek to make services which underpin our student experience more efficient and effective. Over the next year, we will reconfigure the ways we work, reducing silos, making better use of systems and improving compliance with regulations, policies and processes.

An opportunity has arisen for an EPA Services Manager to manage the day-to-day operations for both integrated and external End-Point Assessments, and lead on the changes for Apprenticeship Assessments.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day operational demands for the End Point Assessment process, for both integrated and external End Point Assessments, that comes with the delivery of high-quality apprenticeship programmes and excellent customer service both internally and externally, organising and prioritising workloads within required timelines. 

The postholder will liaise regularly with internal and external stakeholders to ensure BCU delivers high-quality assessments that are reliable and valid across a range of EPAs, and that assessment outcomes are comparable and consistent for all Apprentices.

You will have:

  • Good project management or organisational skills within Further or Higher Education. 
  • Degree or equivalent comparable knowledge gained through professional experience.
  • Comprehensive and up to date knowledge of Apprenticeship Standards and EPA Assessment Plans.
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of the complexities of End Point Assessments Delivery and Quality Assurance.
  • Experience of recruiting, leading and managing a team. 
  • Experience of training, inducting and coaching team members

It would be desirable if you have:

  • Experience working for an awarding organisation or end point assessment organisation within operations and quality assurance.
  • Experience of operations and management in line with the EPA Assessment Plan and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
