Are you are seeking an academic career in an inspiring and cohesive School of Education that delivers excellence in research, teaching and societal impact, then the new permanent Assistant Professor of Education (Technology of Education) position should be of interest to you. UL’s School of Educations provides programmes for various education professionals including teachers, school leaders, guidance counsellors, researchers and policy makers. The School is Ireland’s largest provider of post-primary initial teacher education as well as a leader in teacher upskilling providing programmes for aspiring primary and post-primary school leaders as well as programmes for both out of field mathematics and politics and society teachers. The academic home to over 2400 students, and delivered by a team that has expertise in a range of distinctive disciplines, we offer programmes which span all levels of education from undergraduate, postgraduate, postgraduate diplomas/master’s and PhD studies. Programmes are offered on campus and at a variety of locations across Ireland and online. Complementing these programmes of education is a vibrant research agenda, focused on examining key education issues in local, national, European and global contexts. The School of Education’s research specialisms, based on an excellent track record spanning publications, projects, funding and doctoral student completions, are in: (i) teaching and teacher education, (ii) STEM education, (iii) educational leadership and (iv) inclusion, diversity and well-being.
