Our Uniformed Services programmes prepare learners for a future in the emergency services and the armed forces, with a range of courses which enable learners to have a direct entry into a career, university or progress to more specialist training.
Reporting to the Head of School for Sport, Travel and Uniformed Services, you would lead the development and management of programmes, line manage academic and support staff within the Section and teach on a range of programmes. You would also organise and manage employer engagement, work experience and an enrichment programme, involving day trips and residential expeditions.
We deliver a range of course from Level 1 to Level 5. Full time courses currently offered by the section include NCFE Levels 1 to 3; short courses delivered may include the NCFE Level 3 Introductory Certificate for Entry to the Uniformed Services (24+) - Security & Risk; we also offer Higher Education at Level 4 and 5.
You should be qualified to minimum of Level 3 within a relevant subject area, with a full Level 5 teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector. You will have a minimum of 3 years’ successful recent teaching experience in Uniformed Services, including experience of delivering awarding body programmes e.g. NCFE / BTEC. You will also have some curriculum management/co-ordination experience and experience of managing or supervising a team. You should be willing and able to participate in residential trips and other off-site activities, and willing to obtain a minibus driving licence (D1).
