Opportunity Overview 

We are seeking a motivated and capable Research Assistant for a 6-months 0.6 FTE post on a mixed-methods study titled: ‘Exploring Learning Disability Nurses’ Perspectives on NMC Registration: Implications for Students and Individuals Living with a Learning Disability’. 

Please note interviews for this opportunity are expected to be held on 24th June 2025.

Key Responsibilities 

  • To assist with data collection activities, including fieldwork such as conducting interviews, facilitating focus groups, and administering surveys.
  • To carry out data analysis as required, with a particular emphasis on thematic analysis.
  • To contribute to the dissemination of project findings through internal and external conferences, seminars, and academic journal publications.
  • To contribute to the writing of the final report.
  • To undertake relevant organisational and administrative tasks related to the successful delivery of the project.
  • To perform any other reasonable duties as required by the project management team.
  • To adhere to policies, principles, practices and processes that govern ethical research conduct.
  • To comply with personal health and safety responsibilities as outlined in the University’s Health and Safety policy.

About the School or Department

The role is based within the School of Health and Society in the Nursing and Midwifery department. You will be predominantly working alongside a team of researchers focused on social care nursing.
