The Department is known for its combination of both academic and professional training in politics and international relations with a focus on the Global South (Asia, Africa, and the Middle East). Our MA programme in International Studies and Diplomacy is widely recognised for its distinctive approach to policy-oriented postgraduate training, with a global focus that also covers the role of the US, Europe, and multilateral institutions in partnership with emerging powers. Preparation for careers in international affairs has long been a key strength of the Department.

About the Role:

We are pleased to invite applications for a permanent 0.5 FTE Lecturer in International Relations (Teaching) starting Autumn 2025.

We are looking for a scholar with demonstrated excellence in innovative forms of teaching including undergraduate, postgraduate, online, and professional training.
