This role provides a unique opportunity for the successful candidate to deliver research in battery cell joining and characterisation, as part of an established and highly successful team, working on High Value Manufacturing Catapult projects as part of a multi-year WMG collaboration with a large vehicle manufacturer.
About You
You will need a good honours degree and a PhD (or be close to submission thereof) in a relevant subject, and experience of the theory and practise of relevant welding methods. You will have excellent communication skills, be flexible, and be able to work independently and as part of a team with diverse skills and backgrounds. You will have undertaken complimentary research or development in one or more of the above areas and be able to demonstrate your capability through appropriate industrial or academic experience.

If you are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD but have not yet had it conferred, any offers of employment will be made as Research Assistant at the top of level 5 of the University grade structure. Upon receipt of evidence of the successful award of your PhD, you will be promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of level 6 of the University grade structure.
