Access and Participation Opportunities - Join us in making a difference and supporting our students to thrive at the University of Huddersfield.
We are excited to announce a new Enhanced Support Team (EST) as part of the University of Huddersfield's ongoing commitment to improving student outcomes.
The Enhanced Support Team will play a crucial role in providing proactive and comprehensive support to students, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to succeed academically and personally. The team will adopt a multi-disciplinary approach, with specialisms in areas such as B.A.M.E student support, care-experienced and estranged student support, mental health, autism, and complex disability support, as well as careers and placement support.
The Support Coach (employability and progression) role will report to the EST Team Manager and will involve the delivery of proactive and comprehensive support to students as outlined in the Access and Participation Plan. With a degree in a relevant field or substantial equivalent experience in careers or a related field, you will provide coaching, support and networking opportunities to all students, with a focus on employability and progression. You will support students to put into action the expert knowledge delivered by the Careers and Employability Service and support them on their career journey whilst they are at university.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of our students, helping them to navigate university life, achieve their academic goals, and prepare for successful careers. If you are enthusiastic about supporting students and have the relevant qualifications and experience, we encourage you to apply. We would encourage all applicants to find out more about this team and its objectives as detailed in our Access and Participation Plan 2025-2029.
We offer an excellent employment package including hybrid working, blending a mix of remote and on-campus working (dependent on work duties).
The University is deeply committed to equality and diversity for all its students and staff. We seek to be diverse and inclusive, supporting individuals and groups to fulfil their potential and nurture a sense of belonging. We strive to be an accessible, inclusive employer, removing barriers for all. Find out more about our approach to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, including our commitments and accreditations as a Disability Confident Employer, Stonewall Gold Award holder and Top 100 Employer, Athena SWAN Bronze Award holder and Race Equality Charter Bronze Award holder on our website.
