We are seeking to appoint a Senior Teaching Laboratory Technician to work in the undergraduate teaching laboratories in the Department of Chemistry, University College London.
The post holder will provide senior technical support for the designated teaching laboratories. You will be responsible for the operational management of all resources allocated to the practical sessions assigned ensuring smooth running and effective laboratory management. You will also be required to provide information and assessment for some taught laboratory sessions.
The successful candidate will have a Degree in Chemistry, other physical science or equivalent qualification and/or relevant experience. They will have proven experience in most of the following areas: Operational management of laboratory teaching sessions, purchasing and budget management, supervision of technical staff, management of handling of hazardous chemicals, and specialist gases. The appointee must have good planning and organizational skills and the ability to operate standard laboratory equipment including maintenance, calibration and testing where applicable. Due to the nature of the role, the post holder will be required to work onsite full-time.
The appointment is funded by the department and is open ended.
