The School of Arts, English and Languages seeks to appoint a temporary Lecturer (Education) in the Earliest English Writings in English for a fixed term of 4 months (starting 1 September 2025). The successful candidate will teach a stage 2 module, Mapping the Anglo-Saxon World, an MA module, and contribute both to the teaching in English at undergraduate level and to School administration.

About the person:

It is expected the successful candidate will:

  • Have, or be about to obtain a PhD in a relevant area.
  • Have relevant teaching experience at undergraduate level.
  • Possess the ability to design course materials and to plan and organise the delivery and assessment of taughtcourses in own specialism.
  • Have the ability to contribute to broader management and administrative processes.

Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
