IT Services is a key department that ensures that the University has the robust, reliable and high-performing IT and digital services it requires to support the distinctive needs of those engaged in teaching, learning, research and administration.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Programme Manager (Digital Communications) to join us on a 2-year fixed term basis to support the University’s digital transformation journey.

About the Role

  • The University is currently undertaking a major programme of work to transform Oxford’s Digital Communications through the development and rollout of new University web and intranet platforms which aim to improve the internal and external user experience for students, staff, and the public.
  • The Programme Manager (Digital Communications) will lead the Digital Communications programme and will have responsibility for overseeing the successful development and rollout of the University’s new web and intranet platforms across the collegiate University and within the public realm.
  • Further, the Programme Manager will support the design and implementation of the Digital Communications service which enable the ongoing continuous improvement of the digital communications products in line with University strategy and user needs.

About You

  • Proven track record of successfully delivering high-profile, digitally enabled change initiatives involving multiple workstreams and products - ideally within digital communications - and managing budgets around £3m per annum.
  • Skilled in leading large, multi-disciplinary teams comprising both business and technical staff, with the ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate effectively across all levels of an organisation.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving positive outcomes within complex organisations, engaging a broad range of business areas and user groups.
  • Strong capabilities in planning, risk and financial management, and supplier oversight, with a clear focus on prioritising actions that enable the most impactful delivery.
