We have an exciting opportunity in the School of Medicine and Population Health for someone with a passion for teaching looking to use their skills in medicine and anatomy to make a positive impact on the student experience.

The Teaching Fellows in Medical Education will participate in the delivery of core teaching, including anatomy, clinical skills, small group sessions and assessments. There will also be opportunity to further develop your academic interests in higher education, for example through publication or applying for recognition by the Higher Education Academy through the UK Professional Standards Framework.

The ideal candidate will:

  • be a qualified doctor registered with the General Medical Council
  • be interested in training the doctors of the future
  • have experience of educating medical students in anatomy and clinical skills
  • have some understanding of current educational issues related to the education of medical students.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for you to develop your skills in the small group teaching. Anatomy is delivered using a variety of modalities including prosections, plastinations and models, and we are moving towards the introduction of digital teaching resources. Clinical skills are developed in a dedicated Clinical Skills Centre. You will be supported by teams of dedicated experts. You will work closely with the Phase and Theme leads and wider administrative team supporting the course across a range of areas which may include admissions, curriculum development, assessment, teaching, student support and quality assurance.
