UWE Bristol School of Social Sciences has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Lecturer in Counselling, who will also assume the role of Programme Leader for the Certificate in Counselling programme.
You’ll be a Counsellor or Psychotherapist with leadership and recent practice experience, professional membership accreditation/registration with an appropriate professional statutory or regulatory body, and a commitment to innovative and high-quality teaching,
The post is based with the Counselling and Psychotherapy team within the interdisciplinary School of Social Sciences within a suite of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes accredited by the BACP, British Psychological Society (BPS) and HCPC. Our staff are professional practitioners and researchers at the forefront of their specialist areas. Our students benefit from their cutting-edge insight, practical experience and innovative approaches to teaching. We collaborate closely with employers and stakeholders to ensure that our curricula remain current, topical, and relevant to societal needs.
You will join an enthusiastic and committed team who contribute to the delivery of the Certificate in Counselling and the MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy programmes. You’ve got leadership, academic and practice experience, who will lead the Certificate in Counselling programme and contribute to teaching and learning across the Counselling provision.
The Certificate in Counselling programme is delivered two evenings per week throughout the academic year. Though likely you may only need to teach on one evening per week, but some flexibility is required, which may also include attending university business e.g. exam boards, team meetings etc. typically held during usual business hours.

This is a permanent post and part-time working on a 0.7 FTE contract.
