We are currently seeking a motivated and results-driven Community Engagement and Development Manager to support the Better Futures Program within the Institute of Continuing Education (ICE).

The Better Futures programme is a collaboration between the ICE and the Centre for Better Futures located at Downing College. The Better Futures Programme offers 6 and 12 month programs of study designed to equip accomplished individuals from all sectors of business and life to unlock their full potential and create transformative change in the world. Alongside a core programme, participants will advance a personalised programme of study developed with guidance from academic hosts and the Better Futures team. The inaugural cohort will be launching in September 2025, so it is a particularly exciting time to join this team.

The Community Engagement and Development Manager will work alongside the Programme Director and Head of Academic Centre Administration for the Better Futures Program (HACA-BF) to help participants construct a personalised programme of study with their academic hosts, in Colleges and Departments, and with other members of the Better Futures team. They will be responsible for the effective management and delivery of the engagement activities.

You will require a range of skills including communication and stakeholder engagement, planning, organising, documentation and reporting, with a very broad range of internal and external contributors. The role holder will need to demonstrate excellent communication, relationship building and strategic focus skills.

You will also be responsible for developing, overseeing, and implementing the communication plan and drafting communications to a variety of audiences. They will have a good understanding of stakeholder engagement and be able to support the preparation and delivery of engagement meetings.

The role is available either full-time or part-time at 80%, on a fixed-term basis through 1st March 2026. It reports to the HACA-BF, and is available immediately.

Madingley Hall is part of the Institute of Continuing Education in the University of Cambridge, built in the 16th century, this elegant country house has 16 well-equipped meeting rooms, 62 ensuite bedrooms, a professional kitchen, licensed bar, coffee shop, Lodge House available as rentable short-stay accommodation and is set in 8-acres of grounds including superb Capability Brown designed gardens.
