The School of Health & Social Care is a vibrant academic community for over 3,400 students and 140 staff. Our strategic aim is to make an enduring impact on health, care and society in Scotland and beyond. We do that through the provision of high-quality programmes of education as well as research/knowledge exchange.
Currently, we are offering an opportunity to join our fantastic team as an Associate Professor. The focus of this role will be to oversee the School’s postgraduate / post-registration and transnational education portfolio.
The Role:
As Associate Professor with a remit focused on postgraduate / post-registration and transnational education, you will have the opportunity to use your experience and passion for the development of the healthcare professions, to support learning and teaching, leading and overseeing the enhancement of the portfolio, as well as developing your own personal portfolio of research.
You will be in an excellent position to use your knowledge and experience of postgraduate/post-registration healthcare education to refine and enhance the existing School’s portfolio, ensuring the curricula are contemporary, comprehensive, and innovative in design while making most efficient use of resource. We already have several programmes that are designed to attract professionals from across the healthcare disciplines, and we wish to develop that further.
Your experience will also allow you to support the expansion of the portfolio, so that the School is best placed to equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills for successful careers in a rapidly dynamic healthcare environment. Your knowledge of transnational education models and experience of successfully delivering transnational education will be essential to allow this part of our academic portfolio to grow in a considered and sustainable manner.
Upon joining us, you will become part of a team of motivated, approachable, and professional individuals, committed to their disciplines, who have a good sense of camaraderie and expectations about supporting each other using a partnership approach, with the focus of building each other, and the organisational objective of building careers.
