About The Role

Please note that this is a post whereby the ability to work fluently through the medium of Welsh and to a high standard is a key requirement, and that applications therefore need to be submitted in Welsh.

This is a fixed-term, full-time role until 31/07/2026

An opportunity for a Tutor to join the Learn Welsh - Swansea Bay Region (DCABA) which provides Welsh lessons for adults in the counties of Swansea and Neath Port Talbot.

The role offers a great opportunity for those who are keen to contribute to the prosperity of the Welsh language within the Swansea Bay region and beyond by developing new speakers. This role requires delivery of high-quality teaching and a commitment to ensuring an excellent learning experience for students. Among the duties, full details are in the Job Description, are:

  • prepare and deliver 20 – 22 hours a week of lessons (online and face-to-face) across a range of courses and levels as required, assessing learners' work and skills together with providing constructive, consistent and timely feedback;
  • be available to teach in the evenings (at least two nights a week) and occasionally at weekends - in accordance with the requirements of the audience and the nature of the sector,
  • work constructively and conscientiously towards improving the quality of the provision positively influencing learners' experiences and ensuring an improvement in completion rates and annual progression rates,
  • assist in providing and supporting a programme of 'Learner Support' activities, and assist with promotion of the provision and recruitment to courses
