Job synopsis

If you are seeking to teach in an inspiring and cohesive Psychology Department that delivers excellent research, teaching, and societal impact, then the 10-month Teaching Assistant position in our Department could be of interest to you. The Department’s profile is characterised by its expertise in the domains of social, health, clinical, and community psychology. The Department has close to 600 students. It delivers various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and supervises approximately 40 PhD students. The Department is a leader in internationalisation, reflected in the high rate of international staff members and the number of international students. Applicants must have a psychology degree and some teaching experience. We are looking for someone with potential for supervising research.

The successful candidate is expected to:

  • Teach at the undergraduate level on accredited psychology programmes.
  • Mark student assignments at the undergraduate level on accredited psychology programmes.
  • Supervise undergraduate research.
  • Undertake administrative tasks associated with the post.

"A Teaching Assistant post in the University of Limerick operates as a training contract. The duration of the contract is limited to 10 months. However, it may be renewed for one further period only not exceeding 10 months. Applications will only be considered from individuals who have not already received two Teaching Assistant contracts”
