Are you a proactive and enthusiastic AV/IT Technician with great people skills? We are seeking a customer focussed AV/IT technician to join our fantastic team at the Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences (INI). The work of our IT team underpins the broad range of activities hosted by the Institute. Reporting to the IT Manager, as a valued member of this team you will provide AV support for the seminars and workshops that are hosted as part of the programmes of research at the Institute and undertake a wide range of first line support duties alongside the day-to-day activities of the Institute, including problem solving of routine technical issues. As an INI AV/IT Technician, you will need to respond to the needs of both staff and visitors, working flexibly to find solutions, as the business of the Institute is driven by a range of AV/IT systems.

The successful candidate will have, amongst other experience and skills (detailed in the person specification):

  • Recent experience of working in an AV/IT-related customer focussed role
  • A solid working knowledge of AV systems
  • A good working knowledge of how to produce livestreams - e.g. using YouTube
  • Experience of supporting a diverse customer-base in the use of IT systems and services
  • A solid working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, Mac OS, iOS, and Android
  • A good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities

The majority of INI activities are based in the Isaac Newton Institute and Centre for Mathematical Sciences in Cambridge, however, you may occasionally be required to provide remote support for events hosted in other locations.

Salary

In addition to the base salary stated above, the successful candidate for this post will receive an additional 2.5% supplement to their pay.
