We are looking to recruit a motivated, full-time research assistant to join Prof Ravi Gupta in the Department of Medicine, University of Cambridge. We are seeking a motivated scientist to explore the interaction between mitochondria and inflammation in macrophages with relevance to infectious diseases. The post holder will have experience in microscopy and molecular biology techniques and an in-depth knowledge of mitochondrial metabolism. The post holder will have excellent laboratory skills. Skills with purification of proteins and in vitro biochemical reactions is essential. Bioinformatic analysis skills with knowledge of the use of a range of software tools that relate to human genomics is desirable. The post holder will also play a more general role in organising the availability of consumables within the group and among ongoing research projects. Knowledge of the day-to-day workings of an immunology laboratory, including microscopy, tissue culture and molecular biology would be essential.
The appointee will have a minimum master's degree in biological science.
