Fordham University in London is seeking to appoint an adjunct instructor for a level four course titled Media and the Environment (COMC-4222) for the Fall 2025 semester - starting on 1 September 2025, and concluding on 12 December 2025, with a study break from 20-24 October, 2025.
This course focuses on the intersections between contemporary environmental issues, communication and media systems, culture and social change. It will explore the unique contributions that perspectives from communication and media theory can bring to the study of “the environment” and “the natural world”. It will also consider how these perspectives can inform actionable practices that aim to bolster long-term global environmental sustainability.
Course Objectives:
Successful candidates must be experienced and effective teachers, able to cater for the diverse student body and engage students in the subject matter.
It is expected that one section of this class will run in Fall 2025 and be taught on Thursday mornings, 10.00-13.00.
Approximately 600 students study each year at Fordham London from Fordham University’s Colleges at Rose Hill and the Lincoln Center and the Gabelli School of Business.

*Note: Pay rate displayed from 2024/25 academic year, the 2025/26 pay rate will be confirmed prior to the beginning of the semester.
A syllabus for this course has previously been designed and, while there is license to amend and edit this, the expectation is that a new syllabus will not need to be designed.
