Overall purpose 

The role-holder will have operational oversight of Regent College London’s Access and Participation Plan and be involved in ensuring streams of work which feed into our teaching Excellence Framework are monitored and evaluated. They will implement operational deliverables to support the strategic direction of RCL’s Access and Widening Participation objectives. The role-holder should understand the Office for Students (OfS) ongoing conditions of registration and in particular, those relating to effectively delivering RCL’s Access and Widening Participation and Conditions.  

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of the APP and TEF funded initiatives, working with the subcommittee to develop underpinning Theories of Change, evaluation strategies, implementation plans and risk registers.
  • Oversee the project management of APP/TEF strands of work, ensuring that projects stay on track to achieve programme activities, adherence to budget, and relevant key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Project manage mentoring interventions ensuring they achieve anticipated outputs and outcomes are evaluated.  
  • Oversee and coordinate the evaluation activities and disseminate outputs and successes of the through sector networks, conferences and on RCL’s website. etc 
  • Develop effective relationships for personal and institutional outcomes. Proactively engage with sector networks, building personal and institutional profile 
  • Design and deliver and report on formative and summative evaluations, applying high level qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques as required.
  • Represent the College at relevant external fora, conferences, and networks, disseminating and presenting outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Academic Schools with the College and external local schools to support widening participation and access ambitions.
  • Champion a across- organisational culture of reflective practice and realist evaluation as it pertains to access and widening participation.
  • Oversee/coordinate the dissemination and publication of the College’s interventions 

Person Specification 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & PERSONAL QUALITIES

Essential:

  • Undergraduate degree in an academic discipline, education, or pedagogy
  • Extensive experience in higher education and student outcome interventions designed to enhance access and participation.
  • Knowledge of higher education regulation, quality assurance, and contemporary pedagogical trends, particularly within the UK sector
  • Demonstrable ability to successfully project manage education initiatives
  • Ability to work as a team member to enhance the quality of interventions and evidence impact.
  • Demonstrable experience in working with qualitative and quantitative data to conduct high level analysis that helps establish causal pathways.
  • Ability to produce engaging presentations and reports for a range of audiences.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including networking and relationship building skills, both across the University and externally
  • A proactive attitude and ability to work to tight deadlines against competing priorities 

Desirable

  • Postgraduate degree an academic discipline, education, or pedagogy.
  • Fellowship HEA
  • Ability to effectively utilise Microsoft Office tools including MS planner and digital learning platforms (eg., Canvas, Turnitin)
