We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as a Research Analyst within the School of Medicine, to support a Scottish Medical Education Research Consortium (SMERC) funded research project that aims to understand the origins of the Scottish GP workforce, especially in hard to recruit areas.
The research will use a quantitative approach and the UK Medical Education Database (UKMED). a repository which collates data about UK doctors' education pathways. As such, it is an exciting opportunity to work on research designed to fill a knowledge gap in the evidence-base currently underpinning Scottish educational and workforce policy.
This post is a valuable opportunity for a postdoctoral researcher to take a lead role working with longitudinal datasets in a safe-haven environment, and in preparing findings for publication. It will give you the opportunity to expand your skills and exercise your independent working, with the support and supervision of other researchers experienced with this type of analysis and data.
The research is a collaboration between researchers at the University of Dundee and the University of Glasgow. You will be joining a team with substantial expertise in the field, who meet regularly, and who prioritise a supportive work environment.

We are advertising this position at full-time working for approximately 3 months duration, however other arrangements for part time working will be considered. This post is for a fixed term as it is dependent on external funding. As such, the need for the post will cease to exist when funding runs out.
We utilise a flexible working policy and the post holder will be eligible for homeworking on a regular basis by mutual agreement.
