The post

The Faculty wishes to recruit a 0.3FTE Postdoctoral Research Associate to support the work of Dr Jo Butterworth and team. This NIHR-funded post is available from 1st September 2025 for one year in the first instance. The successful applicant will plan, conduct and analyse qualitative ‘think aloud’ interviews with those living with multiple long-term conditions and/or their carers, from culturally diverse populations. The work will address the hypothesis that Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity (EDI) in the coproduction of a shared decision-making intervention has ensured an inclusive, relevant and responsive intervention. We propose to test the feasibility (applicability and acceptability) of patient-facing materials in this study, ahead of evaluating them in a future trial. Patient and public involvement in the development, interpretation and dissemination of findings will also be key.

About you

Applicants will possess a relevant PhD (or nearing completion) or possess experience in a related field of study and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and have relevant research skills in order to work within the research programme.

The successful applicant will be able to work collaboratively, present information on research and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies. They will need to able to manage competing research and administrative demands and deadlines.
