We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Research Assistant to join the laboratory of Professor Joanne Jones in the Department of Clinical Neurosciences at the University of Cambridge. Our research uses cutting-edge omics approaches to investigate the human immune system and to understand why it "goes awry" in autoimmune conditions, including diseases that affect the nervous system. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to translational research in a collaborative and intellectually stimulating environment.
The successful candidate will be embedded within a dynamic and supportive team based on the Cambridge Biomedical Research Campus. You will work closely with researchers within the Jones lab as well as with collaborators across departments and institutions.
Applicants must have a relevant undergraduate degree and have proven experience in tissue handling, single-cell sequencing, and the analysis of single-cell data. A solid understanding of immunological techniques and molecular biology methods is also highly desirable. You should be well-organised, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
You will have the opportunity to actively participate in experimental design and troubleshooting, contribute intellectually to ongoing projects, and develop your own research questions and experiments. Training and professional development are strongly supported, and the position may offer a pathway to a PhD application for the right candidate
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 12 months in the first instance.
