About the College

The post is based in the School of Allied Health and Social care, one of three Schools within the College of Health, Psychology and Social Care. However, the post holder will also be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues across different disciplines within the College.
You will join the Discipline of Therapy and Rehabilitation which has a strong history of providing high quality teaching and learning experiences for both pre and post-registration students. You will work with a highly motivated team who are enthusiastic about ensuring a high-quality student experience whilst studying at the University of Derby.
About the Role
The successful candidate will join our team of enthusiastic, committed and friendly staff who deliver innovative teaching, learning and assessment across a range of modules / subject areas within the portfolio of Therapy and Rehabilitation including undergraduate, postgraduate, and degree apprenticeships programmes. It is an exciting time to join this developing team to help shape Physiotherapy education within the University of Derby.
You will ensure the efficient and effective delivery of teaching in accordance with the university’s strategic objectives in order to provide an exceptional student experience. You will work with the programme teams and Head of Discipline to ensure that curriculum development, quality management and enhancement comply with required standards. You will ensure that research informs and inspires evidence led curriculum and teaching.

About You
We are looking for an experienced Physiotherapist who has a strong level of experience within the field of Physiotherapy. You must hold an Honours Degree or Master Degree in relevant Physiotherapy and must be registered with the HCPC as a Physiotherapist. You should have experience of education and delivering teaching to pre or post registration students. You may also have experience in a specialist area of practice such as cardio-respiratory or neurological rehabilitation.
You’ll be an excellent communicator, able to convey complex and conceptual ideas in ways that engage and inspire a diverse range of learners. With a commitment to delivering a high-quality student experience, you’ll take a proactive approach to your own professional development and seek continuous enhancement in your teaching practice. You’ll be digitally confident, with practical experience of using tools and platforms that support student learning. Importantly, you’ll demonstrate behaviours that align with the University’s values, including a strong commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and belonging. As someone who thrives in a high-performance culture, you’ll be motivated to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and academic excellence.
