Are you passionate about the FAIR Principles and empowering researchers to handle their data effectively? We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Data Steward to join our Scholarly Communications Team within the Library at the University of Sheffield.
We are looking for someone with a solid understanding of the research data lifecycle and a knack for providing in-depth, bespoke research data management (RDM) support across diverse disciplines. You will be instrumental in guiding researchers on creating data management plans, handling sensitive and qualitative data, and effectively publishing and sharing research data and software.
You will also play a key role in the University's new Office for Open Research and Scholarship, contributing to activities to improve the institutional management of research data and professionalise research-enabling staff. As a central figure in our new Data Stewards Network, you will help increase the visibility and recognition of data stewards and foster a community of practice for RDM.
You are a collaborative individual, bringing your experience of delivering research data management or data stewardship support in a research environment, and are comfortable working across teams and establishing relationships with academic, technical, and professional services colleagues. This role offers the chance to work with collaborators across the University, including Research Partnerships and Innovation, Research & Innovation IT, Records Management, and Data Protection.
