The Division of Allied Health wish to appoint two suitable individuals, to the position of Lecturer in Nutrition & Dietetics. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the field of Nutrition and Dietetics and inspire the potential workforce of the future on our expanding Dietetics provision.
The Division of Allied Health is one of the largest providers of nutrition programmes in the UK and has been responsible for delivering dietetics education and training on behalf of the North West region since 2002. In 2024 we were ranked number one in the North West for Nutrition and Food Science and 7th in the UK (Guardian League Table, 2025).
We are looking for a registered (HCPC) dietitian who has some prior experience of teaching, learning, and assessment in Higher Education, which can be developed further, and who is passionate about training dietitians. You will also have insight into and a desire for a career as a clinical academic.
You will contribute to teaching, learning, and assessment on both the BSc and the MSc Nutrition and Dietetics programmes and, as appropriate, may contribute to the delivery of other disciplines in the division on our postgraduate courses such as Lifestyle Medicine, Cardiovascular Health and Rehabilitation, and Public Health Nutrition.
We require candidates to hold a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, HCPC Dietetics registration, some previous experience of teaching and post registration learning in Higher Education and a Masters or higher degree is desirable. A previous record of working with clinical trainers is desirable and an emerging or developing research profile desirable.
The University of Chester is consistently improving its presence and position within various national higher education rankings. The Division consists of high-profile leading-edge practitioners and academics with aspirations to create new provision and research in the field. Considerable opportunities for career progression also exist.
