Psychology at LSBU is a thriving subject area within the School of Allied Health and Life Sciences. We are seeking a lecturer to join our vibrant, collaborative department that values high-quality teaching, inclusive education, and research with real-world impact.
Our teaching practice is underpinned by a strong commitment to inclusive, applied education and informed by our active research culture. Our BPS-accredited undergraduate and postgraduate programmes reflect our strengths in areas such as mental health and distress, counselling psychology, health psychology, addiction, developmental psychology, and cognitive neuroscience. We host four research groups: Brain, Mind and Behaviour; Lifespan Development; Lived Experiences of Distress; and Nicotine, Tobacco and Vaping. Our facilities include a Child Development Lab, EEG and fNIRS labs, eye-tracking, a unique Pub Lab for behavioural research, as well as a range of psychometric tests and research software. These are supported by dedicated Psychology technicians.
The post is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in both research and teaching, and a clear ambition to develop further in both areas. You will contribute to curriculum development, supervise student research, and build an independent programme of research. We welcome applicants that are research active in any topic area.
About you
As a Lecturer in Psychology, you will be committed to developing both your research and teaching, and to fostering an inclusive, student-centred learning environment informed by your subject expertise. You will have completed, or be near completion of, a PhD in Psychology or a closely related discipline and be eligible for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
