Lecturer (Landscape Architecture)

As a Lecturer on the Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) you will take an active leadership role within one of the School's prestigious research-led ateliers within which there are students from BA Architecture, M.Arch Architecture, and the second year of the MLA, contributing to the delivery of studio-based and theory-based teaching in one of the UK's most progressive and interdisciplinary education environments. You will supervise postgraduate students, contribute to curriculum development, and act as a personal tutor for students.

Your research / specialist area will contribute to the development and delivery of the MLA programme and align with the School's strategic research themes across architecture, landscape, and the built environment. You will also have the opportunity to join one of the Faculty's research groups contributing to its vibrant, multidisciplinary research culture.

We particularly welcome applications from candidates with research interests in any area relevant to landscape architecture, including but not limited to:

• Ecological and climate-responsive design
• Planting design and sustainable vegetation strategies
• Landscape and biodiversity management
• Participatory design and community engagement
• Digital design methods and landscape technologies
• Heritage landscapes

Some previous teaching and academic experience is essential to meet the requirements of a Lecturer position. You will also have exceptional inter-personal and communication qualities, excellent organisational and administrative skills, and a collaborative approach to working. We will also look to you to ensure an excellent student experience through the use of relevant and inspiring learning and teaching.

Staff who hold a PhD and/or are research active in line with the requirements of the University will be awarded a 30% research time allocation with ECRs receiving 20% under our Research Education Citizenship (REC) pathway.
