Princeton Theological Seminary seeks a scholar Christian theology whose research and teaching give critical attention to the intersection of theology, ecology, and race to serve as Assistant Professor in the Theology Department. Other areas of specialization are open to negotiation.
Applicants are expected to have a portfolio of published research and teaching experience in the field and to hold a Ph.D. or its equivalent (or evidence that the degree will be in hand by the time of appointment). The successful candidate will substantively engage the MTE degree program (Master of Arts in Theology and Ecology). They will also share responsibility for all the Seminary’s other degree programs (MDiv, MTS, MACEF, MA (hybrid), ThM, and PhD), with shared responsibility for offering required courses and a broad range of electives that conform to the Seminary's mission, the Theology Department's needs, and the appointee's research interests. As Princeton Theological Seminary is related to the Presbyterian Church (USA), faculty members are expected to work constructively within an ecumenical ethos informed by the Reformed Tradition. The responsibilities of faculty members include: pursuing an active scholarly research agenda; supervising PhD students; mentoring students in all degree programs; service on faculty committees; and regular participation in the Seminary community’s life. The appointment is expected to commence July 1, 2026.
