The PhD will start in October 2025 and is funded for 3 years.

This is an outstanding development opportunity for a talented individual who wishes to conduct research on children and young people with life limiting conditions and their families.
Previous experience in this clinical field is not essential. We welcome applications from early career researchers with relevant expertise in a wide range of quantitative or qualitative methods (e.g. epidemiology, psychology, health economics, statistics, health services research), and with a commitment to conducting excellent and innovative research that will advance care, support and outcomes.

This fully funded PhD studentship (stipend + UK Fees) will be supervised by our Chair of Palliative Care and Child Health, Lorna Fraser and depending on the choice of project and methodology other senior staff from the Cicely Saunders Institute i.e. Dr Peter May, Dr Bethan Page, Dr Julia Hackett.
