We are currently recruiting to the role of Project Workstream Lead. This role provides project management expertise for the Projects workstream, and is responsible for designing and building a system that will manage income for Research, alongside this the role will design, build and implement the Estates project module.

The Role

As the workstream lead for the Projects module you will ensure that the project management efforts are aligned with the overall strategic goals of the University. Ensuring that the module is implemented and accepted by both academic and professional services staff.

Working closely with a number of colleagues including the Project Delivery Manager, Systems Lead and the System implementer, the role will maintain the integrity of the project team and engage effectively with stakeholders whilst working to the standards and governance protocols.

The role will:

  • Act as strategic functional lead for the implementation of the Projects module, being responsible for the decisions on the configuration of the system.
  • Conduct reviews and suggest improvements through analysing findings, and engagement with stakeholders.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of the current processes and desired outcomes whilst providing expert guidance to senior stakeholders on workflow optimisation strategies.
  • Oversee the governance and strategic management of data within the Projects module, ensuring that data is appropriate, relevant and accurate to enable financial reporting.

Your Skills

The role requires:

  • Previous experience in implementing financial systems within a large organisation
  • Relevant experience in research projects, grants and capital projects
  • A strong understanding of financial processes and systems
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Commitment to continuous improvement
  • Experience in using Oracle
  • Qualified accountant, or qualified by relevant financial experience

Location

The University is supportive of hybrid working, where some work is undertaken on University premises and some in a remote working environment. The aim of our approach is to enable as many staff as possible to work in a hybrid way if they wish and where their role allows. This arrangement is subject to change and will not form a part of the contractual terms of the role.

Funding for this post is available for 2 years.
