Applications are invited for a Centre Administrator, to administer activities for the Cambridge Heritage Research Centre within the McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research; acting as the point of contact and administrative support for the Management Committee, academic staff, Early Career Researchers and graduate students in carrying out the Centre's programme.

The role supports the sharing and advancement of heritage research across the University and oversees the promotion and delivery of a programme of interdisciplinary heritage-focused research and research-related activities for a network of university members and external partners, including a newsletter, regular seminars, Annual Lecture, conference and Heritage Fair.

The role holder works with the Centre Director to manage day-to-day activities and to develop and implement an engagement and outreach strategy for the Cambridge Heritage Research Centre. The role will support the Director with strategic leadership while providing a high-quality administrative service to a network of academic staff, researchers and visiting scholars, within archaeology and across the University. The role holder will develop and support events, publicity, publications, research coordination and grant applications. They will act as Secretary to the Centre's Management Committee and funding working group. The role involves supporting a diverse range of heritage research projects and provides administrative support for the organisation of high-profile workshops and an established, internationally recognised annual lecture and annual conference. The role includes overseeing the maintenance of the Centre website, organisation of a weekly seminar series and production of a fortnightly bulletin.

The successful candidate is expected to be educated to Degree level/Level 6 vocational qualification or have an equivalent level of practical experience. A Masters or PhD in Heritage Studies or a related field would be advantageous. Previous experience of developing and delivering an outreach/engagement strategy is essential, as is experience of developing/reviewing administrative processes and systems and experience of working within Higher Education or the heritage industry. Experience of financial and/or procurement systems is desirable.

You should be an experienced user of Microsoft Office and related programmes and have excellent organisational skills. You should have excellent communication & interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate the ability to manage & maintain web platforms. The ability to produce basic multi-media materials (flyers/posters, slides, film) and capability at using social media would be desirable.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance.
