About the role
Due to continued growth in the School, the University of Leicester School of Business is seeking four Teaching Fellows in Accounting and/or Finance to contribute to the continued excellence of its teaching programmes. In this role, you will deliver high-quality teaching across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules, supporting students on both campus-based and distance learning programmes. You will be responsible for the design and delivery of lectures, seminars and assessment activities, and will offer academic and pastoral support to students, helping to maintain the School’s supportive learning environment.
This role also includes contributing to curriculum development, integrating new technologies into teaching practice, and participating in the wider academic life of the School through committee work and continuous professional development. As a Teaching Fellow, you will play a vital role in shaping the learning experiences of students, ensuring that course content remains current and engaging within the context of a research-led institution.
About you
You will hold a PhD (or equivalent professional qualification and experience) in a relevant subject area and a proven track record of delivering high-quality teaching in accounting or finance is preferable. A recognised teaching qualification or evidence of working towards one is essential, as is a commitment to student engagement and academic excellence. Strong communication skills and the ability to inspire and motivate learners are critical for success in this role.
You will be adept at working independently as well as collaboratively, contributing positively to the School. Familiarity with online learning environments and digital learning tools will be beneficial, particularly in supporting distance learning students.
