About us
Our mission is to enable professional and continuing education throughout life, and to widen access to higher education. We design, deliver and curate a portfolio of world leading short courses and award bearing qualifications in a broad range of disciplines.
The Digital Skills Team at Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) plays a pivotal role in advancing the University of Cambridge's mission to widen access to high-quality, research-informed education. This dedicated and interdisciplinary team is at the forefront of designing and delivering the Data Science Career Accelerator-a pioneering programme that integrates advanced technical training with essential business acumen and ethical awareness. Our current projects focus on bridging critical industry skills gaps, fostering commercial awareness among data professionals, and ensuring learners are equipped to thrive in an AI-driven digital economy.
Our activities primarily take place at Madingley Hall (a residential Grade I listed building), which provides facilities for conferences and events, and a full hotel service. Madingley Hall has 13 meeting rooms, 62 ensuite bedrooms, a bar and lounge, set in 8 acres of grounds (including Capability Brown designed gardens).
The Role
We are seeking a part-time Senior Teaching Associate (Grade 8) to take a leading role in the delivery and expansion of our flagship Data Science Career Accelerator (DSCA)-one of our most impactful and high-demand programmes, enrolling 250 learners last year. Delivered through Professional and Continuing Education (PACE), the DSCA equips professionals with the skills needed to succeed in today's AI-driven economy.
In this role, you will support the ongoing delivery of the DSCA, contribute to the launch of a second Accelerator, and help develop future initiatives including a proposed MSt in Data Science and a potential apprenticeship programme. You will work closely with Dr Ali Al-Sherbaz, Academic Director for Digital Skills, to grow and sustain a dynamic portfolio aligned with emerging industry needs.
You will join a collaborative academic environment that values innovation, quality, and inclusion. Your expertise in teaching and curriculum design will directly support learner success and help widen access to lifelong learning.
This is a self-financing post, supported through course income, with flexible working arrangements and a rare opportunity to influence the direction of digital education at one of the world's leading universities.
If you're ready to make a difference and contribute to the future of digital learning, we'd love to hear from you.
