About the role
The Communications Officer supports the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies for 2.5 days per week and the Faculty of Theology and Religion for 2.5 days per week. The post holder is responsible for internal and external communications, including social media, across both faculties.
The postholder is expected primarily to manage the design and maintain the content of faculty website, develop and maintain active social media communications, monitor website and social media engagement.
You will also be expected to write, edit and proofread a range of communication materials, coordinate the distribution of communications to the appropriate audiences, assist with the production of promotional materials, be an active member of relevant university networks, and provide professional advice to Faculty Board Chairs and Heads of Administration and Finance.
About you
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience and have extensive communications experience.
You will also have excellent writing skills, attention to details, excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently in a complex environment and proficiency working with a range of computer-based and online applications, including website-content management systems.
