Purpose of the role
St Peter’s College is looking to appoint a Director of Development and Alumni Relations to start in January 2026, or earlier if available. The appointed person will be an exceptional colleague with significant experience in fundraising, in running a Development and Alumni Relations team and in campaign planning and delivery. The successful candidate will be both an excellent leader and an excellent manager, highly collegial and with a demonstrable commitment to the value of higher education. They will bring clarity, efficiency, application, expertise, ideas and sensitivity to their work in and for the College and will be well placed to motivate, support and manage a high-quality team with conscientious care. This is a key senior appointment in the College, and the appointed person will work closely with the Master and other senior leaders in delivering crucial aspects of the work of the College.
The Director of Development and Alumni Relations is one of the senior officers of the College and reports directly to the Master. The work of the team is overseen by the Development Committee, chaired by the Master. External consultants are brought in to assist with the set-up and administration of the annual Telethon. The team operates in line with the Charity Commission, Fundraising Regulator and GDPR and guidelines.
Remuneration will be in the range £76k - £88k FTE per annum, depending on experience.
